DR55 sync24

How To sync your DR55 with roland sync24?

What do you need:

1) the schematic: download it here and DR55 schematic: download it here.
2) 2x 100K resistor and a pic12f629
3) the hexfile for the pic12f629:
download it here

 

How to make it work:

1) program the pic12f629 (or use a pre-programmed chip)
2) install the chip:

Remove the jackplug (and wires)

1) On the left of the 4011chip: remove wires 7 and 8. now shorten the 2 points ( 7 and 8) on the pcb with a piece of wire.

2) Between the START and STOP button:  remove the wire ( J ) Connect dr55.RUN to the upperpad (near the elco) and RUN.OUT to the lower pad in the picture (near the diode)

Flipover the PCB. Locate the pads of switch S2 (the mode switch)
Connect TEMPO.OUT to the lower left pad (see picture)
CUT the trace running from this pad:

Now locate IC3 ( 4011ub ) on the right of the picture.

Locate pin 11 ( thirth pin from the left, bottom row on the picture.
Connect DR55.tempo to this pin.

 

Connect sync24-run to pin 1 of the din5 connector.
Connect sync24-tempo to pin 3 of the din5 connector.
Connect pin 2 of the din5 connector to GND

Connect pin 8 of the pic12f629 to GND and pin 1 to VCC.
(GND = pin 7 of IC3 and VCC = pin 14 of IC3)
