This is version 2.1 of SY_EDIT, a voice editor for the Yamaha SY-22 and SY-35
synthesisers. It now also supports the TG33, although it is untested in this
version. All settings are now stored in the registry instead of an INI file.

On starting the program for the first time, you will be prompted to enter
the ports to which your synth is attached. You will also be prompted for
MIDI Channel, which should be set the same as "BASIC Rcv.CH" on the
synthesiser's 'MIDI' edit menu. Even if you have placed this version of the
program over a previous version of SY_EDIT then you will still get this
prompt.

When the program runs, it will send the first voice stored in the SOUNDS.SYL
file. As supplied, this will be voice 'Initial' as created by the "INIT. VOICE"
selection on the synth's 'SET UP' edit menu.

Now there is even a help file.

Sorry about the increase in the program size - program bloat seems to have
been introduced by the compiler.

As ever, there is a multiport MPU driver included, installed into the MPU_Multi
directory in the program's install directory.

Version history

1.0 ... Original version (15 April 1996)
1.1 ... Bug fixes and addition of library file (27 April 1996)
1.1a ... Bug fix - positioning of certain graphics (13 May 1996)
1.1b ... Not a version change. Program requires CTL3D.DLL which
doesn't seem to come with later versions of Windows 95.
Also, I've finally added a manual. It is in Word 6.0
format (SY_Edit.doc) and ASCII text (SY_Edit.txt).

2.0 ... Total re-write (due largely to having lost most of the
         original source files).
2.01 ... Argh!! 2.0 worked except for one basic element: it wouldn't
send (line of code got deleted at a very late stage)
2.02 ... Right - this time, I'm confident I've got all the bugs out!
2.1 ... Initial release incuding support for the TG33. (29 July 2000)
