I had an R64 mk II back around 1986 - 1990s. Standard PCM samples and preset patterns of the day, but pretty loud and robust, liked the toms and percussion. No MIDI, but it had pattern clock outputs AND inputs, which was cool to sync it with a Korg KR-55B. Neat agogo fills and each sound had its own volume knob. Mine was a floor demo, the cymbal bled through terribly. Had a lot fun processing it through pitch shifters and such.
I knocked it off a chair and the oversized US power transformer cracked the main PCB, it went all retarded on me. Techs at the US distributor were more interested in selling me new MIDIshit than fixing it. I left it out in front of my building in Brooklyn NYC, it was gone in ten minutes.
