The standard IS5022 Sound Enhancer is fitted with a high grade DAC circuit, whici is intended for monitoring the effects/functions selected. The performance of the DAC circuit is perfectly suited to the purpose for which it was designed, but was never intended to be the ultimate in D/A conversion.
The F3D/SE conversion kit matches the DAC circuit to the same quality level of the A/D converter circuit for analog recording purposes. The main part of the kit is a circuit board with two Philips stereo DAC7 devices and the new 5B digital filter with 4th order noise shaper, dither added.
The installation of this board will result in improved Signal/Noise ratio and Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise figures, improved low level performance and better tonal balance.
