OS: X/W: No MIDI In with A62m

Description:
A user reports: "There is no MIDI input with the A62 m. MIDI out works fine. The problem only occurs with certain keyboards, e.g. Roland D-50, Kawai K-1. "
Explanation:
This is due to a grounding problem. To supply the switchable S/P DIF - MIDI connectors, the grounding of the A26 computer setup and the connected MIDI devices must be in phase and separated. Some rare combinations with MIDI keyboards may exhibit problems with MIDI input .
Suggestion:
Use a special adapter cable with a 220 Ohm resistor soldered between the RCA ground-sleeve and the MIDI connector. This adapter cable should only be used for the A26's MIDI Out.
In order to create such a cable you need the following:
- 1x 220 Ohm resistor 0.25 W, (color code: red, red brown)
- 1x RCA connector
- insulating tape
- a sharp knife and a soldering iron
Look at the MIDI connector of the original adapter cable. The 2nd contact is connected with the sleeve (ground) of the RCA connector, the 4th is connected to the tip. The 220 Ohm resistor has to be inserted between the 2nd connector and the ring of the RCA connector.
- Cut off the RCA connector and remove the insulation from the conductors.
- The resistor has to be inserted between the 2nd MIDI connector and the RCA sleeve. Normally this should be the white conductor, but you may want to test this with a multi meter. If you don't have a multi meter, try the white conductor. If it does not work afterwards, change the cable accordingly (a reverse soldered cable will not damage your A26 or the MIDI keyboard).
- Solder the resistor between the appropriate conductor and the sleeve of the RCS connector and connect the other conductor to the RCA tip.
- Keep connections short, so that the components fit into the RCA connector and be sure to properly insulate the connections to avoid short circuits.

Okay, ik heb dus een EMI 6|2 m en kreeg mijn midi in niet aan de praat, maar mijn midi out wel! Ik heb veel forums bezocht, veel mensen om advies gevraagd (allemaal bedankt) en uiteindelijk alles uitgeprobeerd, ik heb in principe al een midsport gekocht, maar dit is mischien niet nodig...
Bovenstaande quote komt uit de Emagic Help database en beschrijft exact mijn probleem en geeft een oplossing, PERFECT!
Ik zit nu met het volgende, ik weet hoe ik een soldeerbout moet vasthouden en heb wel een beetje kaas gegeten, maar zit nu echt met mijn handen in het haar. Kortgezegd, bovenstaande oplossing gaat me niet lukken.
Kan iemand me persoonlijk helpen, me adviseren of heeft iemand een tip? Ik zit echt letterlijk met mijn handen in het haar!
