waarschijnlijk heb ik mn dw8000al gevonden volgende op de wachlijst gaat waarschijnlijk een ensoniq worden
de esq1/liever de sq80 allebei veel modulatie mogelijk heden 3lfos 4 env en t analoge filter
k heb grainshifter al ge pbt

vfx is ook leuk maar weer soo groot
en een volledig digi maar wel ok sounding pallette denk ik ?

naast een diskdrive en enkele waveforms meer is er vrijwel geen verschil tussen de ESQ1 en de SQ80. kwa klank zijn ze echt vergelijkbaar.

Ow?! Ben je daar wel heel zeker van? ik denk dat je je vergist met een andere machine, ik vind er niets van terug op het net.

Ik heb spijtig genoeg de handleiding niet meer. Ik zoek het verder uit want als ie dat kan is het wel een echt te gekke machine en ga ik mee op jacht naar een SQ80

Ik heb nog steeds mijn eerste synth (ESQ1) en tss deze is de klank uitwisselingvolledig. Let wel de waveforms boven 32 zijn er niet in de ESQ maar je krijgt dan wel weirde klanken (al dan niet bruikbaar)


een vriend heeft nog een SQ80 staan .... ik haal die op en zoek het uit.

ik begrijp je verwarring ... ik stuurde een mailtje naar Rainer Buchty, als er iemand is die iets weet over de ESQ1 en SQ80 is hij het wel.

De SQ80 kan dienen als storage voor de mirage, dat is wel wat anders dan ze laden.

I would like to know how that should work since the SQ80 has no loadable sample memory. While it is in theory possible to alter the samples the hard way, this is a major effort cause not only the wave ROMs have to be changed but also the OS adopted (multisample zones, raw wave parameters).

The SQ80 is able to act as a storage device for Mirage samples (using the sequencer memory), but it can't load those samples for own use.

Regarding the EPS, the SQ80 doesn't know anything about the EPS; since both have also a completely different sound generation hardware (whereas Mirage and ESQ1/SQ80/SDP1 are pretty much the same machines) and differ
*very* when it comes to data storage, I wonder where that idea comes from. In fact, the SQ80 isn't even able to read/write EPS disks.

Since my Dutch is as good as Babelfish's, maybe you can enter the thread and give some clarification.

welok machines maar wel allemaal erg divers zou mooi zijn datje samples waves kan uit wisselen ,..vl1?

Following up on the heels of the ESQ-1 and SQ-80 synths from Ensoniq comes the VFX with more polyphony and waveforms. The VFX allows for PPG-like synthesis using a sort of wavetable synthesis. This puts it into a unique class of digital synthesizers along with the PPG Wave series, Waldorf Microwave series, and Ensoniq SD-1, SQ-80, ESQ-1, and Fizmo.

The VFX has 21 voices of polyphony. A single patch can contain up to 6 of 109 waves in its ROM memory that can be combined and layered. Advanced and analog-like synth parameters including its dual multi-mode digital filters, three 11-stage envelopes, LFO, and 15 modulation sources allow you to further shape and morph your sounds. There's even a built-in 24-bit VLSI dual effects processor with reverb, chorus, flanging, and delay.

The VFX has a standard 61-note keyboard with velocity and polyphonic aftertouch. The synth also has full MIDI implementation with 12 channels for multitimbral functions. The VFX has a cartridge port as well, for storing sounds onto Ensoniq's proprietary media. The VFX is a digital synth, and its filter is pretty weak but the VFX makes some sweet strings and textural sounds but it won't be very handy for any "meaty drum and bass sounds. It has been used by Front 242, Rick Wakeman, Nick Rhodes, Tony Banks, Peter Vettese, T Lavitz, Jonathan Cain (Bad English, Journey), and Oscar Peterson.
