Sergio heeft gewoon alle advertenties met een VX90 beantwoord met het bericht dat hij er eentje te koop heeft staan, in de hoop hem op die manier van de hand te doen. Je hebt niets gemist, hoor

Neemt niet weg dat het mij ook wel een interessante synth lijkt hoor, die VX90. Ziet er ook wel cool uit op de een of andere manier, met dat korte keyboard. Gek maar waar.

Volgens mij word jij vandaag niet meer wakker De VX90 is module van AX73. De VX600 is die met 't korte keyboard. Die lijkt me trouwens een stuk intressanter dan de VX90... Maar de leukste Akai's zijn toch de AX60 en AX80, maar dat terzijde...

Haha, die bedoelde ik ook eigenlijk ja, de VX600. Ik haal vandaag alles door elkaar; zal de leeftijd wel zijn Nou ja, dat kun je beter bij synths doen dan bij je vriendin zal ik maar zeggen.

Onlangs bijna een AX-80 gekocht overigens, maar kon me nog net inhouden. Ik had een demo gezien van deze bak op YouTube welke vrij indrukwekkend was.

I´m afraid it is not so...
You are correct in mentioning that the VX90 is the rack version of the AX73 (73-note, 6-octave keyboard). Their architecture is the same: 6-voice poly, 6 real VCOs (CEM3394)... VCO-VCF (24dB/oct resonant 4-pole filter with highpass)-2ADSR envelopes-LFO-dinamic VCA-(FX is chorus only). 100 patches.

The AX60 is also 6-voice (1 VCO per voice) polyphonic analog synth, but features a 61-note, 5-octave keyboard.
Includes arpeggiator (3 modes). Chorus fx built-in.
More: self-oscillating low-pass filter; separate high-pass filter. Filter section has its´own adsr eg.

The AX60 came after the AX80, which is the 8-voice version, also with a 61-note kb.
Features: 8 voices; 2 VCOs per voice, plus sub-oscillator; 1 VCF per voice (self-oscillating 4-pole (24dB/octave) low-pass; additional non-dynamic high-pass VCF); 1 VCA per voice; 96 patches; mythical lcd bar-graph displays; 3 LFOs (1 for each oscillator plus one for the filter).
Uses CEM 3372 chips as the VCFs and VCAs.

However, the VX600 is not a version of the VX90, with a little keyboard (37-note kb)...
...it is an entirely different machine:
6 voice poly; 2 syncable VCOs per voice; filter = self-oscillating 4-pole (24dB/octave) low-pass VCF, plus an additional non-resonant high-pass one; 2 LFOs on each voice; 3 ADSR envelope generators per voice, with extra decay and delay setting...
The most distinguishing feature is the Matrix Modulation, a system introduced in Oberheim's Xpander and Matrix-6/12 synthesizers (!). 16 sources (plus 31 MIDI controllers) can be used to modulate any of the 18 destinations.
The VX600 uses Curtis chips 3372 (VCF - equivalent to 3320, used in Waldorf Microwave I) and 3374 (dual VCO).

So... the VX600 belongs in a different category, really.

That's why I said the VX600 would be most interesting, but due to it's intensive programming I reckon it is not as fun to use as the AX60 or AX80. A good synth needs a good interface Still, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one one day... Btw, nobody said it was the same as the VX90 cause it isn't
