Fostex VM04 75 euro
Fostex brings the advantages of digital mixing within the grasp of everyone working with audio in the form of the world’s first Compact Digital Mixer - the new Fostex VM04.
With 24-bit data processing the 4 input mixer (2 mic/line, 2 line) features level, pan, 2-band shelving EQ, internal effects send, pre-post, effect type and parameter for each effect on each channel, with all settings being automated by means of the 20 ‘mix scene’ memory.
Both stereo analogue and digital (S/P-DIF) outputs are available with a headphone output for monitoring.
This flexibility in operation makes the VM04 ideal for use as a keyboard sub mixer, a small PA mixer, for adding simultaneous recording tracks and digital effects to multitrackers such as the FD-4 and FD-8 and for digital recording direct to a DAT or professional CD-R.
The VM04’s excellent set of 24-bit digital effects utilise Fostex’s new ASP (Advanced Signal Processing) Technology to offer the kind of sonic quality not usually associated with products at this price.
Finally, mix and effects information is clearly displayed on the custom designed LCD display, enhancing Fostex’s reputation for making advanced technology ultra-usable. ASP - A BREAKTHROUGH IN DSP EFFECTS A.S.P. (Advanced Signal Processing) is a unique digital effects processing technology newly developed by Fostex. By combining a special Harmonics Feedback Algorithm with Hi-Density Logarithmic Processing, A.S.P. effects offer higher gain in the early reflection characteristic and are free from the ‘grittiness’ associated with lesser technologies.
