vandaag kwam tie dan
brom al lkkr ..moet met kenton aansturen..[midi = kaduk]

PAiA Electronics Proteus I mono synthesizer Demo/Tutorial audio cassette from 1981 by Craig Anderton (www.craiganderton.com). Due to length, I had to split the tape into 4 tracks (Side 1 Intro, Side 1 Tutorial and demo songs on Side 2 split into 2 parts). PAiA (www.paia.com) is known for selling build-it-yourself music/audio electronics. I believe this synth kit originally cost $499...they sold just the manual/instructions and this demo tape separately for $10-12, which is how I got it.

ben eiglijk wel benieuwd hoever deze afstaat van de oude modulair van paia waarom dat niet ge-continued werdt ??

heb wat gestoeit met modulairs [doepfer / as en mc beth en sequencers ..thnx patatmet ]

de paia modulair dan maars effe onder de loep nemen
niet erg populair , aangezien ik eens een systeem van +20 modules niet egt verkocht zag worden
ziet r ook niet uit vaak ..die paia zelfbouw dingen

PAiA started selling Modular Synthesizer kits in 1972 with its 2700 series. The first ones, model 2700, used buttons for keys. They were followed by the 2720 which came with a keyboard. The series 4700 modulars came next with an improved, quieter design. The 8700 computer-based modular system was next, connecting a modular synthesizer to a 6502 processor, allowing for polyphony. According to John Simonton, PAiA Electronics, Inc., they "also had some compositional algorithms that would generate tunes on the 8700. There were a number of tricks."

"'That's been credited as the first programmable drum machine, and it may be. For about a year, it was dominant, because there weren't any other programmable drum sets.

"'The Programmable Drum Machine did not play digital samples of sounds like other programmable drum machines that followed it. The drum sounds were done using a technique that was popular at that time called ringing oscillators. You have a filter that's very close to oscillating all by itself, and when you hit it with a little pulse to exite it, it rings the way a drum does. It makes drum kinds of sounds.

"'A real drum has a lot of character. Ringing oscillators tend to be a pure-tone kind of sound, a sine wave that dies out very quickly. Real drums aren't really so much that way....

zag tot mijn grote blijdschap dat paia weer wat kindjes de wereld opgeholpen heeft! eindelijk uitbreiding voor mn paia modular... wat een onding is dat! vco/adrs/vcf/vca/lfo thats all, ik wil juist een modular om gekke dingen te doen... eindelijk heeft paia dat weer begrepen. kijk even op hun site, is nog betaalbaar ook!

Mits voldoende grote hoeveelheden, kan je daar heel gek mee doen.

@mr synth .nl himself ,..bouwje ze ..zelf ,..[kocht mn paia afgebouwd van een italiaanse gear freak ,..idd leuk spul voor ..een budget bedrag ,..snap niet dat r niet meer paia gekken rond lopen ???
