Custom Sontec 8 Channel EQ - For Sale
I'm putting up for sale my custom built 8 channel EQ designed by Igor from group DIY. The EQ borrows filter designs from Sontec along with Massenburg-ish high/low filters to create an incredibly flexible and elegant EQ for tracking and mixing. Sonically these EQ's have an amazing pristine clarity to them; you can both shape and tweak - turn the gain on the high band full tilt and you really get 'air' not fizz. This EQ gives you more of the music without imposing itself. Q settings on the low-mid filter and high-mid filter allow you to make surgical cuts or paint in broad strokes; the variable frequency pots have a large range which overlap making creative EQ band interplays possible. The Low filter has a Q pot with switch for shelf; the high band switchable between 6 and 12 db/octave shelf. This thing can handle any EQ task you throw at it whether it be tweaking a kick drum, drum buss shaping or even mastering duties, and it will do it with the type of refined polished quality you'd expect to hear from a top-shelf piece.... and there's 8 of them!
This unit is essentially flawless and meticulously built (by myself). The EQ's utilize Burr Brown 2604 opamps in the filters and Burr Brown 604's opamps on the input/output. High quality film caps throughout. Connections are made by XLR or Dsub. Features an external toroidal PSU.
Price: 2250 euro plus shipping.
