Voor de mensen die twijfelen of de GSSL geschikt is voor electronische muziek, enkele opmerkingen van Gearslutz:
"I think SSL-style compression is a good fit for Techno and House (and EDM in general).
Fast, tight, snappy is how I think of those."
"Ive been back and forth with compressors on the master of house music...IMO you have to be really careful not to kill the kick transients and make them smaller - especially with a grabby compressor like an SSL. I actually really like Vari Mu style because they can subtly glue and give a bit of size-but they are expensive.
However having owned and sold a gyraf SSL - I came around to realizing what is essential is to have the sidechain filter, and also a mix/blend knob. With those two features IMO a SSL type compressor is ideal - but they are necessary to stop the compressor sucking out the bass (which is does), and pinching the transients...(use the mix knob to feed in some uncompressed)...If you do your compression, then dial it back about 80% - you get the punch and compression - but keep the impact. Its a pretty good result IMO."
