I love having hardware in my studio, and have owned an E-mu E6400 Ultra for quite a while.
When I first purchased my sampler there was a great editor by Zuonics called Zoeos,
though it was quite pricey and as a result I only ever messed around with the demo.
A few days ago the trusty data jog wheel on the samplers front panel started acting erratically
making editing quite cumbersome.
As a result I went looking for the Zoeos editor again only to find that the company Zuonics
no longer exists. Thankfully the developer saw fit to post the source to a Google repo.
Unfortunately I was unable to get the source to run properly, but did manage to get the demo
version running under a WinXP virtual machine with a Java 5 JRE, a Java 6 JRE and above will not work.
Plugging through the source code for Zoeos I found the pertinent files that dealt with the license key
and managed to wrangle a working license key. With license key in hand, the demo version is now a full
version and I'm happily editing things on the sampler.
TL;DR Do you have an E-mu sampler with EOS and want to use the now open source Zoeos editor?
Step 1) Get the Java 5 JRE. I used this link ->
http://mirror.nforce.com/pub/drivers/java_jre/jre-1_5_0_22-windows-i586-p.exe
Step 2) Get the demo Zoeos 1.41 from here ->
https://code.google.com/p/zoeos/downloads/list
Step 3) Use this key as your license ->
ZoeOS-Full-256-001-000-001-999-bho-3A0C7A4-FFFFFFDC214FFFFFFC86F72FFFFFFBAFFFFFFABFFFFFFFF7350FFFFFFD4FFFFFFC3FFFFFFB97EFFFFFFF3
Hope this helps anyone else out there.
