This evening, once again, a female DJ from Amsterdam is our special guest:

In the winter of 1991 Celeste began as a dancer working with famous, and now legendary, dance formations like Quazar and Warp-9. During a long period of touring with these bands, and performances as a dancer in various clubs through Europe, Celeste became familiar with all sorts of different club and dance music. Beside her passion for dancing, Celeste became a keen collector of vinyl records including all her favourite styles of dance music. She created her own musical taste en began to experiment with turntables and a mixer. After a period of practicing, experimenting and playing at small parties of friends in the livingroom, Celeste made her DJ debut in 1992 for a bigger audience in the famous club 'Mazzo' in Amsterdam. Soon after this gig DJ Celeste was asked to play in various clubs, several private and student parties in the Netherlands, but also in Turkey, Spain, Israël, Indonesia, Portugal and China. In 2000 Celeste started dj-ing at 'Kashmir Lounge' in Amsterdam, where she became responsible for the music policy management. She also hosted and presented a year long a radioshow called 'De Nachtclub' broadcasted by Dutch national Radio 3FM. Famous DJ's she played with at various parties include: Jeff Mills, Dimitri, Erick E. and MarYsol. Celeste describes her choice of records as "MIDI-SOUL", which could be explained as: "house with soul, funk and disco influences and a little bit of techno-trance". And that exactly sounds as the right combination for a warm and soulfull edition of Sonic Planet in a (probably...) cold november month! Ofcourse, this evening is hosted by Sonic Planet resident DJ's Equate & Funky Jo. Accompanying visuals are mixed and performed by Team Stiihl.
