12/16/03 -- I just found out today about a new keyboard from Yamaha called the PSR-3000. I don't have all the information in front of me but here is what I know: List price $1795.00, Polyphony 128, 61 keys, built in speakers, 100MB of wave rom, 240 styles, 16-track sequencer, large color screen (like Tyros), Video out jacks, 2MB internal flash memory, USB Hosting (enables the use of USB flash key storage devices), Broadband conectivity (enables the user to access the internet without the use of a computer to download from certain websites songs, etc.). I don't know if there is a vocalharmonizer, but my guess would be that there is one. Availability for this product is expected sometime in July or later.
This should be a very exciting new product. More information will become available very soon, product discriptions and info have been mailed to dealers but not yet received. Stay tuned!

....I hear that the PSR-3000 is more like the Tyros then the PSR-2100. It has Mega voices, a large color screen, vocal harmonizer, storage via USB storage devices, 128-note polyphony. Although is has speakers that are probably more the size of the PSR-2100 then the tyros, I would think that with 100MB of sampled sounds, we should expect to hear more the Tyros quality rather then PSR2100. -- George Kaye, Kaye's Music Scene, Reseda, California

12/31/03 -- I've already received the new product catalog from Yamaha last week and there are pictures of all the new products. I have been showing the pictures of the new PSR1500 and PSR3000 and I can tell you that the picture you are seeing here is the same product in my catalog. .... I'm looking at the pictures of both the PSR-1500 and the PSR-3000. They look exactly the same except that the display on the 1500 is not a color display. Both display lyrics and notation. The 1500 is 96-note polyphony compared to 128 on the 3000. Organ modeling on both. 793 voices, including Sweet! and Cool!, on the 1500. Sweet!, Cool! and Mega! voices on the 3000. 210 styles on the 1500 vs 240 styles on the 3000. 16-track sequencer (32 tracks over USB) on both models. Smart media slot on both. Direct-to-Internet connection on both. USB "to device" to connect USB storage devices (thumb drives, FDDs, etc.). Video out on the 3000. 2 MB flash ROM user storage on the 3000 (I don't know what is on the 1500 (probably 1/2) ). On the 3000, "you also get the styles from the tyros and new ones including styles targeted directly to the US worship market." -- George Kaye, Kaye's Music Scene, Reseda, California

1/3/04 -- The PSR-3000 and new PSR-1500 will definately be shown at the NAMM show. Yamaha is also replacing the DGX300 and 500. If you take a look at the technology on the PSR1K, this screen and sounds will be in the new product line DGX550 + DGX350. I received the Yamaha NAMM info a few weeks ago .... I will not be attending NAMM, I'll miss my west coast friends. -- Dan O'
