Ik ben nog helemaal verknocht aan de sp16.
Ben zelf alergies voor de mpc. Dus die komt er niet.

dus niemand kan er mee aan de slag?? zou wel vet zijn als iemand die firmware een draai geeft.. blijft toch een onwijs goed klinkende bak.. ik twijfel telkens over verkoop maar de klank is te overtuigend tov al die andere spullen van tegenwoordig.. hence de rytms enzo

nee alle pioneer specifieke code mist.
Weet niet of het iig genoeg is voor alleen het OS.
Dan zou iemand een custom os kunnen maken.
Bv Akai mpc one OS hahhaha.

Anyhow ik ga de source eens downloaden en checken wat er gebeurt als ik de instructies volg.

Ik doe die van mij iig nog lang niet weg.

Ik heb de souces en het build systeem voorbereid, en het lijkt wel het complete OS voor de SP16.
De nodige kernel source ed kan je downloaden.
Maar de userspace app die mist.
Als een slimme hacker die nu uit de firmware haalt en dan decompiled en ons de code geeft :-) dat zou dan uit firmware release 1.30 moeten komen.

What's Missing - The Critical Gap

- Main Pioneer DJ Application

You can build a bootable Linux system that will run on SP-16 hardware
The hardware drivers and audio system will work
BUT you won't have the Pioneer DJ sampling/sequencing software that makes it an SP-16

For a bootable system: YES - This has everything needed to create a working embedded Linux system for the SP-16 hardware.

For a functional SP-16: NO - The proprietary Pioneer DJ application software that provides the sampling, sequencing, and user interface functionality is missing.

What You Could Do With This
Create custom firmware with your own audio applications
Study the hardware interface to understand how Pioneer implements audio processing
Build alternative software that uses the same hardware capabilities
Research/reverse engineer the missing application layer
This is actually quite valuable for hardware hackers and embedded developers, as Pioneer has provided the complete hardware abstraction layer and driver stack, just not their proprietary application software.

edit: ik heb even zitten zoeken, de eerste source code was al gereleased in 2013, 3 jaar voor de hardware release zelfs.

Hmmm ok kan in de wayback machine niets vinden.
Had gehoopt dat ze daar dan per ongeluk de sp16 app en algo's hadden gelekt.

Wat tof zou zijn als er zoals de drumlogue custom fx ingeladen kan worden. Voor de rest heb ik niet veel wensen, langere sampletijd zou wel cool zijn.

Als ze alleen de mute functie van de DJS overzetten, dus mute state opslaan in pattern dan Ben ik al blij!
Ook DJS hotslice zou toch moet kunnen op de SP16, zou ook erg fijn zijn, maar kan nu met een workaround al wel.

Wat ik niet zo goed snap is dat je ook 32 slices kan maken. Maar je hebt maar 16 pads.
Hoe kun je meer dat 16 slices gebruiken?
Kan dat wellicht met scenes?

transpose knop ? net als dat je een bergje octaven kan spelen met een 1 octaafs keyboard/16pads.

Nee dat gaat niet. Je hebt max 16 slices.
Via de "area" dial kun je de 16 pads door alle slices laten scrollen.
Dat kan alleen met alle 16 slices tegelijk.

Anyhow kan daar wel leuke dingen mee bedenken.
Hoewel je dit niet kan automaten.
