OK - let me try to explain things.
First of all, your License Agreement specifically states that you are allowed one install. And
that the software is not tranferable. Did you all read that? I know, no one ever does, right?
In actuality we recognize that professional may use more than one computer but we don't
condone more than two installs. the 5-times limit is there as a protection for problems,
hard drive crashes and other catastrophies. It is not a license to install many times, nor as
a work-around to transfer your license to someone else, or to "share" installs.
So if you try to abuse the system it'll come back to bite you. We keep a running history of
the Reg Dataabase so we can look up whether the same code has been used by different
people. We also know the running history of each install/re-issue/update etc.
When you buy software it comes with "rules' that you accept when you install. If you have
issues with those rules don't accept them and raise your concerns, get a refund, whatever.
But choosing to make your own policy is not the way.
Whenever a customer comes to us with a legitimate problem we will try to help them, not
just hide behind our rules. We appreciate your purchase and will try to do everything in
our power to serve you and support you. So don't think we're not grateful - we are.
But the software is NOT transferable after being installed, and the second owner that you
give it to will likely hit a wall, and when we see the history we won't help them. That's a
shame, as it may not be their fault, but we have a right to protect our interests as well.
Sorry to sound stern, but I just want to be clear. OK?
regards,
Jerry
