Si Begg
How many times these days do we hear something truly fresh in music? People still talk of those groundbreakers from the past, those who have cut musical lines and those who pushed the audio boundaries forward such as Underground Resistance or Aphex Twin. Not only is Si Begg's music revolutionary and groundbreaking but his productions are totally fantastic, he is the ultimate breakscutter, sampler, dancefloor host extraordinaire. He is the man of the moment, truly out of the ordinary: London-based experimentalist Si (Simon) Begg is a restless, often ruthless experimenter with little respect for boundaries.
Si Begg began to establish himself as a force in electronic music by the mid-90s, inspired and spurred on by close friend Cristian Vogel as well as the likes of Coldcut. By the turn of 1995 Begg had embarked on an unstoppable musical path that would see him release a multitude of records while constantly shifting labels and forever plundering styles and genres.
From his Buckfunk 3000, Cabbageboy and Bigfoot aliases to S.I.Futures and his Noodles pet projects Si Begg has continued to side step musical complacency and defy categorisation, while others seem to be digging up the past and furrowing the same path, He hops between styles on a regular basis recording for Novamute, Tresor, Language, Eukatech, Ninjatune and Chrome as well as a multitude of independent labels mashing up experimental electrobreaks with Detroit techno, drum and bass, u.k.garage and ragga as well as true electro p-funk.
Never content to stand idle, Begg continues on his mission, confounding the critics with his anything goes approach to music making and somehow finding the time to run a number of labels such as Mosquito with Cristian Vogel, and Noodles and Noodles Discoteque (launched in 1997 ) which he dubbed 'the stupidest recording organisation in the world’.

Radioactive Man
What can we say about Radioactive Man which has not been said before.
Truly a superstar in his own musical right, Keith Tenniswood is a respected name in electronic music.
He forms one half of the duo Two Lone Swordsmen with Andrew Weatherall, with whom he runs the Rotters Golf Club label. The duo has been making a name in the electro-techno scene in Europe since the mid-90s, and released groundbreaking albums like 'The Fifth Mission' and 'Tiny Reminders' on the famous Warp label. But his activities don't end there. He produces, DJs and plays live as Radioactive Man and runs the Control Tower label with Dexorcist (Simon Brown) besides engineering, remixing and producing for a long list of artists like David Holmes, Slam and Etienne De Crecy. His solo-albums on Rotters Golf Club are seen as milestones for British electro, and the english music press praises him to be one of the best live-acts in the UK.
Know all over for all of his musical exploits and never tired of his endless gigs throughout the world, Radioactive Man plays live once again for us in a must-see must-hear for all who love the electronic beat, totally fantastic, totally inspiring and with an understanding of pushing the dance floor second to none.
Lory D
Lory D is a name you will find missing from the list of celebrated dark techno producers, e.g. Jeff Mills, The Mover, Lenny Dee and the Aphex Twin, although his music is as essential.
He is an ex-Italian D.M.C. champion who has been playing since 1989 and owns the seminal Roman techno label Sounds Never Seen. He was one of the first people to bring the Acid House and Hardcore sounds of London to Rome, where he is regarded as something of a god. His inspiration comes from Rome's nighttime metropolis, the darkness and beauty of the city and the overwhelming feeling of the underground raves he plays. His musical influences are as wide ranging as Aphex Twin, Suicide, Drexciya, Spk, Ligeti, Frankie Bones, The Mover and Underground Resistance.
Sounds Never Seen has released a clutch of twisted metal soundtracks in recent years... never more than 500 copies pressed and all fanatically collected by likeminded freaks. All the records are most effective floor fillers, all are 'sounds never seen'. Together with Rephlex label-mates, Leo Anibaldi, Bochum Welt and the D'Arcangelo brothers, Lory D best represents the sound of Italy, or even the 'sound of Rome', since 1991. Lory's music is fearless, original and strong Electro and Techno.
Ace move from Rephlex to re-release some of the SNS stuff, giving the legend Lory D some well-deserved exposure! The prince of Italian acid has been admired by everyone from Richard D James to the Skam possee for some time, his dark blend of electroid tweaking and old skool percussion providing some killer dancefloor moves in the darkest possible way.
69db
There are many DJ’s and musicians in the world attempting to play live electronic dance music but Sebastian Vaughan a.k.a 69db is the live master. He has an understanding of the audio performance to a level to which very few will ever reach. He has performed more times than most would think possible and after all these years he still is setting the standard and is as all-inspiring as ever to those that have heard him before as he is to those that have never heard him. For those that know of his music and his performances there is no doubt that Sebastian Vaughan is one of the greatest electronic musicians to have come out of the electronic music scene.
69db, originally from Scotland, joined Spiral Tribe sound system in London in the early 1990s. He enrolled at the City of Leeds College of Music where he got his first access to a recording studio. It was here that he composed his first tracks for Spiral Tribe. Over the 90’s 69db has worked under names such as SP23, R-ZAC and Liveset Dub along with Spiral Tribe and its sub labels Network 23 and Stormcore. He also released on a multitude of labels i.e. Big Life, Drop Bass Network, Force inc., Rabbit City, Trax Records Chicago, Labworks, Acid Orange and finally Expressillon, for whom he still releases.
Seb and his music literally grew up on the sound systems of the 1990s. He has played consistently in the European underground, installing his live on party after party for now close on 15 years. It is from this background that his love and need for improvisation has been established. For the last years, 69db and fellow jam partners from the Network 23 family have been developing a scheme that fuses live improvisation with electronic music and programming. The result is 50/50 split between these two poles, and he has gained much respect from musicians inside and outside the world of electronic music.

. Audio Illusion was echt heel bruut!! keiharde breaks, net niet tegen de dnb aan.. snoeiende snares vlogen om je oren + een vette vocoder.. Het enige jammere was dat ik daardoor Si Begg maar 20min heb gezien.. Si Begg draaien Cd's en platen doorelkaar op een zeer hoog tempo. het klonk echt super vet, echt een aparte stijl, snelle getripte electro.. gewoon wat ik van hem verwachte. Ik hoorde ook niet echt positieve dingen van vrienden van me.. maar ik denk dat dat meer te maken heeft met Si Begg niet kennen en dus zijn stijl niet kennen.. Ik wil hem zeker nog eens helemaal zien. Subliminal Criminal was ook wel lekker bezig.. een terechte binnenkomer.. Spindokter Ries vond ik persoonlijk een beetje bagger.. we vonden het echt een opgefokte Monika Kruse.. irritante platen. maar wel lekker snel en grof mixen.. Lory D sloot af in de grote zaal.. hij draaide rustiger dan ik had gedacht, maar het was wel erg goed.. was een echte techno set, vond het geen detroit. het een diepe set met af en toe was acid invloeden. 69db heb ik niet veel van gehoord, wat ik hoorde was een beetje soft?? ik vind Network23 erg vet maar daar neigde het niet naar zover ik heb gehoord.
Decor was super vet!! echt een heel goed feest, één van de betere dit jaar
