Magic Smoke electronics is een nieuwe fabrikant op modular gebied.

Ze komen met een interessant filter, die waarschijnlijk ook super mooi als oscillator kan dienen... Die optie lijkt mij persoonlijk het interessantst.

The Mankato Filter
We are proud to introduce the TH-201 Mankato voltage-controlled filter. This analog synthesizer module was designed by DIY electronics icon Thomas Henry and is being produced by Magic Smoke Electronics.

Available in two flavors: The TH-201/4 has 2 inputs and 4 outputs; the TH-201/8 has 4 inputs and 8 outputs. Inputs may be AC-coupled for audio use or DC-coupled for CV slewing (portamento, etc.).

Center frequency ranges from 0.005Hz (200 seconds/cycle) to beyond 20kHz using standard capacitors. Will self-oscillate at high resonance for use as an oscillator. Operates as a quadrature (4-phase) or 8-phase sine wave oscillator! Frequency range may be changed by using different capacitors.


TH-201/4


• 12 and 24 dB outputs
• inverted 12 and 24 dB outputs
• 90 degrees of phase difference between each output
• quadrature sine wave oscillator


TH-201/8

• 6, 12, 18, and 24 dB outputs
• inverted 6, 12, 18, and 24 dB outputs
• 45 degrees of phase difference between each output
• 8-phase sine wave oscillator

Nu weet ik niet wat voor exotische onderdelen ze gebruiken dus wat het inclusief parts gaat kosten is nog de vraag, maar ik vind dit een zeeeeeeeeeeeer interessante module.. Ik weet van mijn sheppard generator dat lfos met een phase verschil heel leuk zijn.

Als het goed is zijn ze binnenkort te bestellen en zal de prijs van de kit dan ook bekend worden.

Hoezo? Hout spiegelt toch? Maar dit is inderdaad een photoshop plaatje, maar ik geloof wel dat de module er echt komt.
