Hi there,

btw, OS 1.20 is uploaded.
Song Mode is implemented!

However, no instruction manual or quick guide is ready yet. Will do this as fast as I can.

just a very short description here:

Song Mode works in either perform or pattern mode. Song mode turns on/off by pressing the song button. In perform mode, you can record kit changes for every song step. tempo changes can also be recorded. The last item is the song Step number and this increases when the repeats are counted down. up/down selects the 20 possible songs.

it can realtime record when you press write (write led flashes) and start the sequencer. Any pressed pattern selection or the changed menu items Kit select, Patt select or Tempo causes a new song step to be generated. In realtime record, the repats count up unless you input any of the beforementioned selections. A new selection will only be taken to the list at the END of the currently running pattern. When you stop the sequencer in write mode, the song end is defined there ("FIN").

Don't forget to press write again to leave write mode after realtime record because your recorded steps will get overwritten again.

In stopped mode, you can directly edit the song steps with the arrow buttons and the data encoder. selecting the song step (last entry) updates the programmed assignments Kit select, Patt select, Tempo and Repeats.
When you press write in halted mode, you can directly store to a song step. Just select the wished item to be changed (say number of repeats in song step 1) with the arrow buttons. Then press write (led flashes), turn the data encoder to the desired value and press write again to lock the programming.

In play back mode, you can change the selections on the fly if you are quick enough. When a countdown is ready at the end of the current pattern, it jumps to the next selected location in the song step list.

Also, you can be in perfom write mode when you enter song mode. the perform write mode is active in background to let you edit instruments realtime via instrument selection and knobs during song playback. The write button in song mode does not change the perform write selection.

maximum number of song steps is 255.
maximum number of repeats (bars) per song step is 255. Null resembles song finished.
maximum number of songs is 20 (in this version).

after updating the OS, I would recommend to do the following:

press 3+shift+enter+write at the same time so that all leds light up. This is a master reset function that initializes all pattern and song memories and reloads the user kits/patterns from flash to bank 1.

enjoy!

Best Wishes,
Jürgen Michaelis
