A freely programmable remote MIDI controller
With the development of the C-Mexx MIR U1, a whole new concept is explored by C-Mexx and Cordial.The name stands for MIDI Interactive Remote and the idea is based on the fact that one rarely needs to adjust more than two parameters simultaneously at a time.
The C-Mexx MIR U1 is not only suited as a Hardware-Controller for Equipment, but also as remote control for every MIDI capable device. Either standard controls or SysEx strings, the C-Mexx MIR U1 is freely programmable and therefore any kind of MIDI message can be implemented.

C-Mexx MIR U1 Construction layout
* The C-Mexx MIR U1 comes in an elegantly smart formed synthetic case about the size and look of a hand with a pointing finger.
* The ergonomic design allows users to hold and control the device easily. Two endless rotating encoders, which also act as push or toggle buttons, are available.
* Furthermore an analog Potmeter and five more buttons, forming a cursor cross with additional Enter-key, are available.
* A two line 16-character backlit LCD shows parameters, values, meters and graphics. The adjustable backlight allows a clear view even in dark live environments.
* The DB-15 connector provides connection to both the external power supply and two MIDI plugs for communication with the equipment to be controlled.
C-Mexx MIR U1 - Memory and programming
Two kinds of banks can be stored in the memory of the C-Mexx MIR U1, each adapted to different needs and requirements depending on the purpose it serves and the hardware and software to be controlled. In normal mode each button and encoder has its own designated function and is able to send its own specific MIDI data. The display can show all kind of information: Values, text (aliases), graphics (icons). When control over more parameters in one bank is required, multiplex mode offers up to 32 virtual encoders, which can be accessed directly. The first rotary encoder on the C-Mexx MIR U1 selects the parameter and the second rotary encoder alters the applicable value.
When a new bank is created for a MIDI capable device, all MIDI parameters for each rotary encoder, button and pot on the C-Mexx MIR U1 can be freely defined.
C-Mexx MIR U1 - Running modes
The C-Mexx MIR U1 has two modes available, which are characterized as intelligent Mode and I/O Mode. The Intelligent Mode acts as the normal mode. The system can send all kinds of MIDI commands from presets, which can be edited, created and stored; the display can show values or names of the alias-tables and change parameters by control elements. This mode uses the internal processor and internal memory of the C-Mexx MIR U1.
