Solid State Logic heeft gister de Nucleus gepresenteerd.

Op dit moment zijn er slecht 3 foto's die ik kon vinden. (daarom nog geen voorpagina nieuws)
Ze zijn met een telefoon gemaakt en moeten dus nog ff geduld hebben tot SSL de site update met meer info.

"It's a 16 fader DAW controller, with 2 mic preamps.

It has sophisticated control of your DAW, with of course the faders, but also with rotary knobs. And yes: there is a flip function!
Above the faders there are displays which can show you parameters of your plugins (also 3rd party, automapping), you can do really fast adjustments on your plugin compressors, EQ and so on. The faders are really high quality. The overall unit looks very nice and slim, it won't cover your whole place.

It's also possible to create your own shortcuts, for instance CUT, COPY, PASTE or AUDIO MIXDOWN, so you can create your own controller. Not as sophisticated as with the Euphonix MC Pro, but I think everybody can program most of his needs on these controls.

Of course there's a transport section as you can expect, with joy dial and so on. Also there are zoom function buttons, as you see on other controllers.

The controller connects to the computer via Ethernet and uses HUI protocol to communicate with your DAW of choice.

The unit also has 2 main audio (XLR) outputs to your speakers and at the back there are 4 USB inputs, which your computer will automatically scan."

Erg jammer dat er dan weer twee pre-amps in zitten die het geheel weer prijzig maken. Ik had liever gezien dat ze een directe controller hadden gemaakt voor de Duende plugins. Het lijkt nu een beetje er tussenin hangen, er is ook geen meter-bridge als ik dat zo zie.

Nou ja, maar even wachten wat er verder nog komt en misschien eerst maar's testen in de praktijk alvorens weer allerhande commentaar te geven ;-)

Volgens mij wel voor zover ik begreep uit Jim zijn post op gearslutz

Dus 2 maal i/o waarvan de inputs ook als pre amp gebruikt kunnen worden denk ik zo.

Heb het ding vandaag gezien. Ziet er wel geinig uit, en heeft veel handige features voor producers, zoals een hele rits assignable knobs, waarmee je heel veel shortcuts in je DAW programma kunt maken. Persoonlijk zal ik t ding nooit kopen, maar das meer omdat t mijn geluidskaarten geen meerwaarde geeft, en ik niet geloof in een doos met schuiven. Je moet t zien als een euphonics faderdoos met leuke features, wat mij betreft.

De X rack vond ik dan weer interessanter! Zeker met de nieuwe stereo eq. Prijstechnisch begint t zeker de moeite waard te zijn daarin te investeren.

Die Duality die ze bij soundworkx hebben staan, is trouwens wel heeeeeeeeel erg vet en groot...

Pfoeh de berekenende hollander in mij zegt.. da's een hoop geld voor een controller met 1 paar i/o, bedenkende dat de controller functies overneemt die al aanwezig zijn in je DAW en dus niets nieuws toevoegt behalve gebruiks-comfort. 4K EU alleen voor gemak en comfort.. nee dank u, doe me dan maar een muis.. dan schaf ik voor 4K liever iets aan wat geluid voortbrengt of op andere wijze een welkome toevoeging geeft aan geluid.

Toegegeven, het ziet er wel 'slick' uit.. dat dan wel.

edit: bovenstaande bezie ik als hobbyist, bedrijfsmatig en 'terugverdienbaar' zou ik zo'n controller wél verwelkomen..

Eens met Sander02. Het slaat een veel te groot gat in het budget voor iets dat vooral uitblinkt in in de weg staan. Kansloos.

ik vind hem niet mooi hoor. er zijn ook goede controllers euphonix artiest series niks mis mee ! aangezien de nucleus niks doet met geluid of niks voegt in het geluid zie ik geen reden om eentje aan te schaffen.
