Reverb plugins op G5

weet je toevallig ook wanneer er een G5 powerbook komt?

Niet eerder dan eind 2004 is geloof ik de algemene verwachting.

Als ik de G5 heb ga ik zeker een testje doen.

While Platinum Verb isn't the last word in tools for gauging a system's performance, it does at least provide a familiar and relative guide, since so many users have done similar tests on different systems.

But in terms of G5-specific optimisations, reverb is one effect that does particularly benefit from the 64-bit nature of the G5, although more from an addressing perspective than simply one of processing, since reverb algorithms deal with complex calculations of large numbers, which can now be carried out in fewer operations with data being retrieved and manipulated as longer words.

Zodra de problemen opgelost zijn met het koelen van de G5 processor in zo'n dunne behuizing als de huidige G4 powerbooks... :confused:

Vermoedelijk najaar 2004. Eerste model wordt vermoedelijk "PowerBook G5 1,6 Ghz". En vermoedelijk is de desktop lijn tegen dan ook al verder geëvolueerd tot Dual G5 3Ghz (zoals vorig jaar beloofd door Steve Jobs bij de introductie van de G5).

Ik heb echt nog nooit een platinum verb gebruikt.
Space Designer daarentegen.......

hé Radiance, in één van je vorige posts in dit draadje zeg je dat je met een G4/400 werkt. Hoeveel SpaceDesigners kan je daar tegelijk op draaien? Gewoon maar een vraagje voor de statistiek hé

Hoeveel Space Designers....


Dat hangt af van hoe groot je impulse response is.
Ik kan b.v. maar 1 spacedesigner draaien met een "concert hall" impulse gemaakt van m'n lexicon PCM80.
Die Concert hall is een impulse response van 4,5 seconden. M'n cpu staat dan op 75%.
Ik zou dus wel 8 Space Designers kunnen draaien met rooms van 0,5 seconden ofzo.
Ik moet er wel bijzeggen dat Altiverb een stuk zuiniger omgaat met je CPU.
Ik heb de demo gedownload om het te vergelijken en daar kon ik en Hall van 10 seconden op draaien met 50% op m'n cpu meter.
