10CC "I'm not inlove" stemmen

Ik vond via de help slechts een kleine tip naar de creatie van die hemelse vocale geluiden uit 10CC's "I'm not in love".
Op "Future Producers" kreeg ik hetvolgende antwoord:

"THM, strangely enough, years ago someone who was tape op on one of their sessions for this track told me that it was done using a single vocalist and running multiple events of her vocals. This was then run through an Eventide, EMS filter bank and a plate reverb. Geeza could be talking bull tho'."

Weet iemand of dit klopt ?

Gebruikten ze niet een mellotron?

Tenminste dat heb ik wel eens gehoord.

Op de an1x mailinglist staat dit over de vocale geluiden van 10cc:

They created taped tracks of real vocals, one for each note they
planned to use. So they had a track of E, A, F#, etc. and assigned
each one to its own channel of the mixing board. The vocal note was
continuous for the length of the song (tape looped). They
then "played" the notes by moving the sliders on the mixing board up
or down. That's why it has such an interesting attack to the notes.
Bring up three sliders get a chord. Bring up all of them for an
interesting cluster like at the end of the song.
This song still sounds great today.

De vocals klinken namelijk veel zuiverder dan die die uit een Mellotron komen

Voor zover ik me kan herinneren heeft dit verhaal ook ooit eens in Music Maker gestaan (1979?) dus dat klopt denk ik wel

Dat zijn de echte producers hè! Hoeveel werk of hoe moeilijk het ook is, dat doen of gebruiken dat het beste resultaat geeft. Nu willen ze alles zo rap mogelijk liefst dan nog alles uit èèn doos en digitaal. Dan maken ze er nog een MP3'tje van en je hebt wegwerp trash producties. Foei!

Nou het toch over I'm not in love gaat: luister eens naar dit mp3-tje. Zit dat regeltje er nou bewust in of is dit een uitvinding van een stel idioten dat het leuk vindt platen achterstevoren te draaien en er dingen in te horen?

Een Gizotron is bedoeld voor de GITAAR en dus als zodanig verboden op dit forum...
Wel een uitvinding van Godley & Cream overigens.

Volgens mij is het de versie van elke stem/toonhoogte opnemen op een apart spoor. Toen was de 24-sporenrecorder net uit...

Je kon trouwens in die tijd voor de Mellotron ook tapes laten maken. Ian MacDonald had zijn eigen geluid op tape laten zetten (fluit) en zo waren er nog wel meer waarvan de naam me nu niet te binnen wil schieten...

Nee wel dat het bij de stemmen werd gemixt.

Ik heb ooit eens een andere versie van I'm not in love voor hen gemastered.
Zat veel meer gitaar in. Persoonlijk vond ik het origineel toch mooier.
Mischien ook wel gewenning.
