S950 sample floppies omzetten naar wav, E-Mu, S1000...

Dat is boeiend! Waarom leek ik overal te vinden dat WAV pas vanaf 4.70 kan? Ik draai namelijk 4.62 dus dan zou dat ook gewoon moeten kunnen.

Als ik naar officiële changelogs kijk, kan het inderdaad al vanaf 4.01. Met 4.62 zou hij ook Ensoniq moeten kunnen lezen trouwens.

OK, dan zou AkaiUtil genoeg moeten zijn.

The main purpose of this program is to extract samples and programs from Akai
S900/S950 disk images (HFE and IMG).

The sample extractor will process as many disk images as are supplied. HFEs
and IMGs can be located within subfolders, but with a caveat: Each image must
have a unique filename, or else the conflicting disk images will not be
handled properly.

- Move/copy all HFEs and IMGs to their proper folders: [HFE_IN] and [IMG_IN]

The tool will process either S900, S950, or both. They do not need to be
separated by type, but do not place IMG files in the HFE folder, or IMG
files into the HFE folder.

Subfolders are allowed: See the example disk images and folder structure.

- Run the "Extract S9 HFE & IMG" command to process all disk images

Everything is automated and requires no user interaction beyond putting the
disk images in the expected places (see above) and starting the tool.

The "[S9_OUT]" folder and any other output folders are created as required.
Each disk image will be given its own subfolder, and all WAV files are also
placed in their own subfolder within the "parent" disk image folder.

CONSIDERATIONS

FMJ-Software Awave Studio has support for Akai S900/S950 samples and programs.
Samples have read/write support, but S9 programs are read only.

Standard WAV files are generated for each Akai S9 sample, and are easily used
with audio editors (such as Audacity or Sound Forge), or with soft samplers,
etc. However, the WAV files do not contain helpful metadata such as root note,
and loop point. Depending on the sample, this may or may not matter.

If such such things are critical, using Awave Studio with the *.S and *.P type
extracted files is the best option.

3.5" floppy diskettes cannot be directly extracted with this tool, but Akai
diskettes can be ripped to raw disk image (IMG) using Omniflop.

Ik zou eens moeten zien of die tool handiger is voor mij dan akaiutil waarop ze gebaseerd is. want met akaiutil kan in in bulk WAVs extracten zonder dat ik er Akai programs bij krijg die ik niet kan gebruiken.

Maar goed, het lijkt ondertussen wel waarschijnlijk dat ik een werkbare manier ga vinden om de Akai diskettes naar WAVs om te zetten.

kan je nadat je eea hebt uitgevoerd, je samples/wavs beschikbaar stellen aan de mensen uit dit topic ?

Geen idee hoe het met progs zit, daar ken ik nog niks van en heb ik me niet in verdiept omdat ik enkel met wavs iets kan.

Afhankelijl van of het me lukt en de kwaliteit en inhoud van het resultaat, zou ik wavs kunnen delen. Maar hoop op niks, voor hetzelfde geld is het allemaal stuk, of onbruikbaar, of Johan Cruijf quotes...
