Wie weet komt het nog zover ook als we de 2 jaar gepasseerd zijn

Het enige wat me boeit aan het 'integrated' gedeelte is dat je geen f*cking Sounddiver meer nodig hebt als je wilt editen op je scherm. Fatsoenlijk arps maken zie ik ook wel zitten.

Maar dat je audio kan streamen etc doet me niet zoveel. Als ze nou een betere interface zoals firewire of USB2 hadden gekozen dan was het een ander verhaal. Je mag nu blij zijn als je meer dan 1 stereo 16bit/44Khz kanaal krijgt.

ik heb 1800 euro klaar liggen voor die Virus | TI, maar alstie niet snel komt dan ga ik denk ik toch maar een NL3 halen, aangezien ik die ook al heel lang wil. Ik heb iig mijn ouwe Virus C niet weggedaan, dus die sound heb ik toch wel. Heheh, zul je zien: wet van murphy... haal ik een NL3 in huis, zul je zien dat er binnen een week Virus TI's verkocht zullen worden.

Hmm, 'k zou die 1800 op een spaarrekening zetten/houden en wachten op de TI. Daarna zou ik pas beslissen.

De NL3 blijft voorlopig nog wel, en wordt misschien nog wel goedkoper ook.

eigenlijk verdienen ze het bij access als iedereen voor de NL3 zou gaan! dit kan toch niet, iedereen een beetje lekker maken.....

nou, "iedereen voor een NL3 zou gaan", ik denk dat alleen mensen like me, met een eerdere "wens" voor een NL3 dat zouden (kunnen) doen, maar om nou een NL3 te nemen als substituut voor een TI, lijkt me een beetje onzinnig.

De NL3 heeft specifieke kenmerken, net als dat de Viri dat ook hebben. Beiden hebben eigen sound en mogelijkheden. Feit blijft, dat ik de featureset van de upcoming Virus enorm zie zitten.

Het enige waar ik bij een NL3 een beetje mee zit is het ontbreken van effects (maar dat lossen we wel outboard op) en ik vraag me af hoe "courant" de NL3 blijft op de korte en middellange termijn. Heeft iemand hier enig idee wat voor plannen Clavia heeft om een opvolger van de NL3 te maken, of een "upgraded" versie (NL3X net als de NL2X ofzo? meer voices, misschien wel een fx unit ala de G2) ...?

Dat is eigenlijk momenteel het enige wat mij ervan weerhoudt om naar een random muziekwinkel te lopen en een NL3 te kopen, plus het feit dat die TI eraan komt.

The original TI concept linked the Virus synthesizer to your computer with VIRUScontrol, a companion software product which ports the hardware synth into a host sequencer for use as a sample-accurate VST/AudioUnit instrument, simultaneously offering 2-way audio and MIDI connectivity, control surface functionality, editor and librarian functions, and more.

However, negotiations with Apple Computer over the AudioUnit protocol were difficult and involved several patent issues. Apple Computer’s involvement included an Apple-branded custom controller for their Logic Pro software, based on the original Virus design. This portable device, called the TiPod, was scheduled for release at the Paris Apple Expo in September ‘05. Access Music sued Apple Computer over copyright infringement, delaying the imminent release of the Virus TI-series longer than we ever expected. After months of legal battle, Access Music won the lawsuit last week, forcing Apple Computer to cancel the TiPod (Steve Jobs apparently cancelled his Paris keynote speech as well), allowing Access Music to finally release the new Virus series as Virus D, featuring all announced TI synth features including greatly increased polyphony, 2 new oscillator types, a per-patch programmable arpeggiator, 16×2 delay/reverb fx, embedded singles in multi mode. Due to legal restrictions, the VirusControl software will only be supported as VST instrument on WindowsXP, not as AudioUnit on Mac OS X.

Maar D'rack? Lijkt me dat menige duitser dan wel even een glimlach op z'n smoel krijgt als die dat leest/hoort.

Jammer dat Access en Apple nu geen vriendjes meer zijn. Maar dan had Apple maar z'n zaken beter voor elkaar moeten hebben (anders verliezen ze ook geen rechtszaken). Voor straf denk ik dat ik maar eens geen Apple's ga kopen (al helemaal niet van die superordinaire iPods).

En ze gaan nu dat pakhuis met Virussen eindelijk leeghalen en ze allemaal omspuiten?

Er is nooit een aanwijzing geweest dat er een rack versie zou komen, en een TiPod lijkt mij al helemaal nep. Ik mis trouwens ook de Polar in dit rijtje. En waarom zou er van naam veranderd moeten worden omdat de plugin niet in AU formaat te krijgen zou zijn?

Die NL3 klinkt inderdaad wel erg vet zeg.

Maar goed, iedere synth zijn eigen sound. Als ik niet al een C had zou ik niet weten of ik een NL3 zou kopen of op de Ti (of D) zou wachten.

De NL3 is gewoon een overtuigende bak waarbij je met een goede externe FX unit gewoon echt een prachtsynth koopt.

gewoon een flauwe grap meer niet. een TiPod? Yeah Right. TI alleen voor Windows? Access zou wel gek zijn om dat te moeten doen, de professionele muziekwereld zit vol met Apples (in de studio's waar ik kom werken ze alleen met Apple, geen pc te zien hoor).
Ohw ja, en vergeet de smilies van David niet!


Spijtig dat de reputatie van Appel hier wel wordt zwartgemaakt, dat verdienen ze echt niet imho

Nou nou, hadden jullie echt niet door dat het Virus D / TiPod verhaaltje dikke BS is? Toch is er wel iets van waar : het fruitwinkeltje heeft inderdaad die keynote speech van ome Steve in Parijs onverwachts gecanceld, terwijl de perskaartjes & reservaties al wel de deur uitwaren... Heel de mac community flink pissed, ook door het uitblijven van nieuwe PowerMac / Logic updates.

Het hele Virus D verhaaltje neemt trouwens in 1 logische ruk de 3 genoemde bedrijven op de korrel :
- Access : voor het schaamteloze uitblijven van de beloofde TI (Virus D.elayed)
- Apple : omdat ze meer bezig zijn met hun iPodjes dan met de ontwikkeling van Logic en de PowerMac
- Digidesign : voor hun prijzenpolitiek

Overigens zie ik die Virus D'rack wel zitten... 12bit DA converters, analoge filters, distortions, delays... Kan het zo mogelijk nog viezer?

En de Virus KD... voor onze Nederlandse vrienden : "kadee" is Vlaams dialect voor jochie
