In an unusual move for Apple, company officials have made a public statement about an upcoming release of Logic. Apple has also recently released a Logic 7.0.1 update which is available through Software Update.

A major focus of the future Logic update will be to include features added to version 2 of GarageBand and the ability to read GarageBand 2 projects. The ability to seamlessly take your project from GarageBand to the Logic family was cited as an important goal by Apple officials. The new features found in GarageBand 2 will be included in the update as well. This includes applying pitch and timing correction to entire audio tracks.

Another significant feature in the planned update for the Pro version of Logic is bus latency compensation to accommodate plug-ins that inherently introduce some latency.

Apple declined to state on exactly when the new update would be available, or what the version number would be. It will be available for a nominal charge.

"Bus Latency Compensation can affect Logic in two ways. The first deals specifically with latency issues encountered when using an external DSP like PowerCore," Dr. Gerhard Lengeling, Apple senior director and lead architect for the company's audio applications, reportedly told MacCentral. "The other happens when using plug-ins that 'look into the future.'"

Normally, when a plug-in is added to Logic natively it does not add latency, but Lengeling said in rare cases this can happen. "Specifically, latency can occur using plug-ins like a Linear Phase EQ and Limiters."

Apple reportedly declined to say when a new version of Logic Pro with Bus Latency Compensation would be released. However, the company did say that Bus Latency Compensation was being developed in direct response to requests from its Pro Users.

Beetje wazig dat de hoge piefen zich gaan mengen in de zaken en er ineens garageband ondersteuning perse bij moet. Net zoiets als dat er bij Soundforge na de overname door Sony ook ineens heel prominent Sony Clie ondersteuning was.

Who the fuck cares!

Ik vind het een slecht teken. Losstaand van de praktische toevoeging.
Dan liever ondersteuning van DP of Cubase projecten of zo.
