Gisteren in de mail, ik had het al AH opgeslingerd en ik zal jullie nu ook een beetje gerust stellen:

This is an email that I am sending to yourself and my other M5 clients!...
Firstly, as always, thank you for the patience that you have shown during
the production time of your M5 synthesizer...this project has proved to be a
complex one! Designing a synth of this size has taken a lot more time and
effort than my previous two projects- the M3X and the moroco. One always
likes to work at speed and as efficiently as possible and sadly, making an
accurate forcast for final production has prove not to be possible.
I am glad to say, that all design elements regarding the circuits are now
finished, and the PCBs are now in manufacture- after initial boards arrived,
last minute changes, which increase the specification of the instrument have
been added. Of note are improvements to the 'Utility' State Variable Filter,
this filter now now has the ability to self oscillate a pure sine wave in a
similar fashion to the 'main' transistor ladder filter. Normally, that is
not the easiest thing to do, without encountering distortion...but a small
sub circuit has been added due to the discovery of applying elements of
capacitance to the feedback loop within the filter array- the output signal
is uncorrupted! I have now also extended the output of the noise generator
not just to have white and pink outputs, but now there is a slow random
output for modulation purposes- its an simple, but amazing
application...much of the internal wiring within the M5 has been replaced by
PCB 'tracks' which is more effient in build and ultimately more reliable.
Light Emmiting Diodes have now been added to the Oscillators and LFOs.
Within the Utility SVF more modulation and mixing parameters have been added
making that section of the M5 a small synth in its own rights!
Parts have now arrived from suppliers and manufacturers including a large
quantity of the custom slider pots...
The front panel artwork is now concluded and that is being sent off to the
manufacturers shortly. Regarding the case design- clients (some ex-2600
users) have asked for the design to be upright, ie vertical as opposed to
the rather large desktop design as I initially planned- so that is the way
that things on that issue will go.
I can now say that in about 4 weeks, the first M5s are going out, and the M5
shall also be seen at the Frankfurt Musik Messe trade fair- I shall be there
also to demonstrate the device.
I felt that it was only fair and right to inform you of the progress and the
way that things are going and once again to thank you for your patience and
I know that the extra wait for your synth shall be worth it!
