Als deze patterns freaky getweaked waren had je vast verteld dat je liever een langzaam verloop had gehoord om kleine nuances te kunnen ontdekken. "Freaky tweaks, meer een soort van safe modus, lekker gek doen want anders hoor je het verschil patterns..."

en ik zal hem het liefst ook nog willen horen door een distortion....
als je zolang bezig bent met iets, dan laat je toch het apperaat in meerdere situaties horen. kleine nuances liggen niet alleen in rustige patterns.



Anyway, ik vind het een hele goede benadering en mijn twijfels zijn weg. In een mix of met FX hoor je echt geen verschil dus waar hebben we het dan nog over?

Ik krijg een beetje het idee dat jij je negativiteit over dit ding over ons aan het uitstorten bent om de waarde van je eigen TB hoog te houden, zij het financieel zij het om je perceptie van je TB hoog te houden...

Als jij dat ding kut vindt klinken, dan mag dat natuurlijk, en dat mag je ook best met ons delen, maar dat hoeft niet elke dag aub...

Ik vind het een verleidelijk projectje... ware het niet dat de combinatie van mij en een soldeerbout een pseudo-garantie is voor een leuk vuurtje, maar toch... ik denk dat ik best eens met de tweede batch wil meedoen... 300$...mmmm...

Huh......de waarde van mijn eigen 303 hoog houden........ik maak geen muziek voor status ofzow.
Ik sta ingeschreven om die x0x te kopen.
Vind gewoon dat de samples die tot nu toe gegeven worden niet voldoen aan mijn verwachting.

Op bijv de site van future retro (http://www.future-retro.com/) staan goede samples van hun nieuwe apperaat (revolution). Hiermee laten ze horen wat het ding kan sonisch, een voorbeeld vind ik voor andere bedrijven.

Als jij de mening van anderen niet trek kan je mijn berichten ook gewoon NIET lezen. Maakt mij niet zoveel uit.....

Ik heb een keer met 3 303s opgetreden... en jaren lang met 2 303s geoefend en dat is zooooo ongelooflijk leuk. Ik moet er gewoon twee (of meer) hebben. Noem het stom, maar ik noem het lekker! Eentje die de lekkere volle bass doet en de andere die een beetje tjielpen en die andere weer distorted... hmmm

Inderdaad. 2 303's is echt super. Heb er een paar maandjes 2 gehad en vanaf het eerste moment vond ik die 2e 303 echt wel een hele goeie aanvulling. Toen toch die 2e 303 weer verkocht omdat ik andere spullen ging kopen, maar ik begrijp precies wat je bedoelt

Je hebt gelijk, nou zie ik het.

Ik heb daarom maar even een tweede test gedaan. Nu heb ik elk kanaal afzonderlijk afgeluisterd zonder steeds tussen links en rechts te switchen en dan hoor je al vrij snel dat de x0xb0x aan de linkerkant zit en de 303 aan de rechterkant. De 303 klinkt een stuk organischer, vooral als je de stukjes met slides erin hoort. De slide van de x0xb0x komt sowieso niet goed uit de verf. Hopelijk is dit een programmeerfoutje en ligt het niet aan het hardware-ontwerp.

Verder heb ik even de demo's van de ML-303 beluisterd. Die zit qua geluid duidelijk in een (veel) lagere klasse dan de x0xb0x, maar is qua prijs natuurlijk ook wel weer een stuk voordeliger.

Hi guys, I've been harassed to give an update. So here's the latest news:

Production PCBs are coming in this week (or so says UPS, at least) yay!

We're waiting on the silkscreeners. We ended up switching who we wanted to
screen the panels at the last minute (decided to go with a higher-quality
printer) and thats taking a bit of time. We expect to pick up the panels
in less than two weeks.

Thanks for being patient. We know we're behind schedule, but I assure you
things are ---> forward.

In the mean time, there have been some updates to the website, and
there's even some work being done on the control software. You can check
out how the firmware/software is doing on SourceForge
(www.sf.net/projects/x0xb0x) the file releases aren't up to speed, so
look in the CVS repository for the newest code.
If you have suggestions for the firmware/software, send them to myself
(x0xb0x@gmail.com) or post them to the forum (www.ladyada.net/forums)

hi guys. we're finally going to start shipping kits. since i dont live in europe and have never done business in europe i have a pretty simple question:

the kits need to be shipped somehow, and VAT needs also to be paid (16-20% depending on country)
There are basically two ways to ship a package such as this, by UPS/FEDEX or by postal service.
UPS/FEDEX is expensive ($75 or so) but they will take care of passing thru customs and can bill the receiver for VAT and shipping (which saves money) or the sender for VAT and shipping (which is more convenient).
Postal service is cheaper ($30 or so) but there is a larger chance that the package will be lost (depending on the postal system) or stuck at customs for some stupid reason. It is also more difficult to pay VAT and I have to fill out all the forms, so I am more likely to charge an extra fee for the time and effort spent dealing with customs declarations.

how would you prefer to have a synth kit shipped?

USPS is very very slow, but they've actually never lost a package that
was sent to me...
The good thing about USPS is that (at least in Ireland, where I live),
I never get to pay VAT on stuff that's sent through them... I'm not
sure about Holland or other European countries though...

The USPS Global Express Mail will indeed be around $30, and you
have the option to insure the package. Insurance against a value of
$300 dollars is $2, so that's fair.

thanks for the note. to clarify, i would be sending insured global priority (single synths are under the 4lb limit) which would be ~$30 total.

I second that (for Holland).
USPS never lost any off my packages and so far I did not have to pay any VAT or Import duty where as UPS or FedeX always make me pay...

Just be sure to describe the goods as beeing "parts" (electronic parts in this case) .

the packages will be declared to customs (as required) with $300 value, but there is no tariff on import of electronic parts from EU. if they dont make you pay VAT, well...you're lucky i guess

i will then make a general mailing to the mailing list, and then i will email 20 people at a time, where they have 1 week to pay in order to keep their spot.
i feel its only fair to show the final product completely before asking for $...luckily the panels are the last item we had to wait for.
