MFB Filterbox; hoe ruig is deze?

Gezien de toch wel erg aantrekkelijke prijs overweeg ik sterk dit filter begin aankomend jaar aan te schaffen.

Ik maak voornamelijk harde house-stijlen als hardcore/industrial etc. dus een beetje smerigheid kan geen kwaad. Nu weet ik dat het geen Sherman is, maar gezien het prijsverschil is dit denk ik een interessant alternatief.

Ik las op de site van MFB dat je de input kan oversturen wat natuurlijk helemaal niet verkeerd is.

Ik zou het liefst zelf even luisteren en het apparaat testen, maar helaas zou ik niet weten waar. Bovendien heb ik er te weinig tijd voor;-)

Kan iemand, die in bezit is van de filterbox misschien wat voorbeeldjes plaatsen van bijv. een 909 kick die flink vernaggeld wordt door dit filter?

Uiteraard zijn gebruikerservaringen ook zeer welkom!

Die kende ik nog niet, ziet er ook interessant uit; sequencer is niet zo heel belangrijk, dus lijkt me een leuk alternatief. Thx voor deze tip

volgens mij is die seq wel vet helemaal voor hardcore/tereur kan je mooi je cutoff modulere per stap en dat is leuk

Dat is waar, is erg handig, maar dat kan ook met automation

nee, heb m zelf ook nooit gehad, herinnerde me hem alleen maar van een andere filterbox thread

er staan geluidsfragmenten op de site zelf.. google jomox en je komt er vanzelf, niet echt moeilijk lijkt me

MFB Filterbox is absoluut geen terror scheur box, maar juist erg subtiel. Omdat ik ook geen geld heb voor een Sherman vond ik de MFB ook zeer interessant. Heb hem even gehad maar vond hem toch iets te mat.
Heb ook nog naar de Doepfer Filterbank gekeken, maar vind deze enigszins hetzelfde klinken qua mogelijkheden. Bovendien zijn het halve zelfbouw modules die je zelf in elkaar moet knutselen en zo handig ben ik niet. (er staat wel een 2ehands op www.marktplaats.nl :-)

Check out the Resonator pedal by Frostwave. This is a clone of the filters from the old Korg MS20 monosynth and is simple to use with real clarity and punch. This comes in at $357 Australian.

The Electrix FilterFactory has four filters, two switchable high/low pass and two band pass. The MIDI is better but the Sherman wins on chaos and tweakability.

Mutronics make the Mutator which is a pair of 24dB filters with envelope follower capabilities. Great for stereo applications. The envelope controls are not as strong as the Sherman and it is not as "modular" yet remains a firm favourite of many artists and is probably the Shermans nearest foe. £600 inc. VAT and shipping.

Check out Moogerfooger MF-101 Lowpass filter. This is a simple but great sounding filter with envelope following abilities. $314 US

Shermans' own QMF is a monster made of four Filterbanks with a big modular patchbay on the left but again with no memories. This is a dream machine clocking in at well over two grand. It is also a limited edition thing so if you can get one then get one.

Other than these alternatives it could be worth beginning a modular synth collection. A good starting point is the Doepfer A100 modular system. A simple 24Db low pass filter (A-120 VCF1) comes in at about Euro 70.00

Je kunt natuurlijk bijna iedere input oversturen. Het klinkt bijna alsof iemand het feit dat je de ramen van je auto kunt open zetten opeens probeert te verkopen als een Climate-Control-System
