All though this classic vintage keyboard is labelled as an 'Electric Chord Organ' it is in fact what is also known as a 'Harmonium'. For those of you who aren't familiar with this instrument, when turned on, it's engine starts up & an internal fan begins spinning. When the keys are pressed the fan blows upon internal reeds which create a deep and warm moog or even accordian type of sound.
Unless you are aware, this of course means that the sound is of an acoustic nature & there is not a line out of the instrument. Used in the studio with a microphone you will definitely capture a unique & beautiful sound.
There are 8 keys on the left hand side which play full chords which enable a melody to be played with the standard piano keys on the right.
A classic example of a song where one of these has been used is the first track, "Tiny Spark" from the "Lapalco" by Brendan Benson.
