)
Troubleshooting
The unit starts up displaying "firmware upgrade required" and is inoperatable. After about 50 times powering off/on (litterally 50!!) it just suddenly starts up as it should.
Some say I had to flip the 115/220V switch, but I think that's complete nonsense, it must've been a lucky shot by that particular user, like I said, after power-cycling 10-50 times it will start up normally eventually.
Steps to reproduce
None, there's no logic to be found. Whether the unit is stand-alone or connected, in the morning or in the evening, rain or shine, say a prayer and power the unit on, and hope it will start up normally.
Details
Probably known issue to Motu, but very frequently and lately more regular then exceptional(as in daily), my Motu 828MKII FW starts up displaying "firmware upgrade required".
See my old Tech-record : 35063 where I explained in detail what's the case. I've also been in contact with the Dutch motu helpdesk, but that didn't help a bit. I'm still having this annoying issue, and I'm determined not to pay a cent for a fix (as I haven't done anything to cause this, Motu has by providing her users with faulty firmware)
I consider my unit NON-reliable. Please provide us with a decent solution, and if not, then this will definitely be the last Motu product I bought. Flipping power switches, and fiddling buttons just ain't good enough a solution, please treat customers with a little more respect !! Or a fair amount of discount on the new MK3, or a FREE fix.
I can't believe some people paid for a fix, after all the irritation and halted projects they might've experienced due to a fault caused by Motu.
