maya 44 en MIDI

Voor zover ik weet zit er geen GM soundbank ROM op de maya44. Maar koppel de MIDI input gewoon aan een (niet VA) synth van je, die hebben meestal allemaal wel een GM bank. Of misschien kan je een GM of XG VSTi aanschaffen. Ik geloof dat Edirol (dochter van Roland) zo'n VSTi heeft gemaakt.

Maya 44 heeft geen geluiden, is slechts AD/DA kaart.
Wel kun je er een midi optie bijkopen die je 2 keer midi I/O geeft.
Kost iets van 90 euro ofzo.

Ja precies...maar daar zit alsnog geen GM bank op.

Nee heb nog niets gekocht, wilde vanavond die Maya 44 gaan halen, maar ontdekte dat MIDI probleem. Daar is dus niets aan te doen. Bedankt voor de link! Nu moet ik nog zien te vinden welke kaarten wel een general midi bank hebben en die betaalbaar zijn.

Let op bij het aanschaffen van een Maya44 dat deze kaart niet tot nauwelijks stabiel te krijgen is onder Windows XP. Ik heb onlangs een Maya44 gekocht en ben zeer tevreden met de lage latency / lage prijs en goede audio i/o. Ik krijg het kaartje niet stabiel. Er zijn hele lijsten met VIA upgrades/ PCI latency patches, bios instellingen, XP tuning en driver updates die de stabiliteit moeten bevorderen. Dat helpt, maar niet all the way. Blijft onstabiel en daarmee niet bruikbaar naar mijn mening. Er worden door Audiotrak ook geen nieuwe drver updates gemaakt voor de MAya44.

Hi. I was having some major problems with my Maya44, and I finally managed to fix them.Hopefully the following information might be useful to those who have an Abit motherboard or VIA chipset, and can't get their Maya to work.
The problems I had were that in Cubase I couldn't get any sound out of the Maya at all, and in SoundForge the VU meters froze and playback hung until I reset the Factory Default. I also have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 Platinum installed on my XP system, and this has always suffered from problems with distortion and dropping samples.
The excellent Abit KT7A FAQ at http://www.sudhian.com/faqs.cfm/fid/2/fcid/1.sud (the
SoundCard and BIOS sections are very useful) suggested that this is a PCI latency issue (which many people seem to be aware of). I tried to install the VIA PCI latency patch
v019 -- http://www.tecchannel.de/hardware/817/8.html -- but this made the problem worse.
The output from both soundcards was in short bursts with large gaps between them. I uninstalled the patch and this made my system unstable and ultimately the machine was
unbootable (although this was probably because I'd tried so many different driver combinations and something got messed up, rather than because of the patch).
I did a complete XP reinstallation, and updated the BIOS. My original BIOS revision was WW, but the 3R revision claims to fix the latency issue. I downloaded it from www.abit.com.tw . It adds a couple of extra settings to the BIOS, 'PCI master read caching' which should be Disabled, and 'PCI master time out' which it recommends setting
to 3. I then installed the latest version of the VIA 4in1 drivers (v4.43), and everything worked.
I still need to do a factory default occasionally (other people have reported this bug), but otherwise, it's working much better now.
There are lots of other suggestions on the Abit FAQ page for things that are worth trying if you are having problems:
* Enable/Disable the 15-16M memory hole in the BIOS
* In the 'Hardware Acceleration' page of the display settings, take it down a notch from maximum
* Try disabling hardware acceleration for sound (do this from the DirectX dxdiag program)
* Disable UDMA on one or more of your disks
* Try changing the order of your PCI cards
* Disable ACPI
* Install the latest VIA IDE miniport driver
* Try changing any BIOS options that say things like 'Delay' or 'PCI read caching'
* Increase the I/O voltage in the BIOS
Could someone at Audiotrak please create an FAQ where we could put information like this? Most responses seem to be 'Check the message posted by Audiotrak Korea' which isn't very helpful. Also the Forum is *very* slow on a dialup, so it takes a long time to search for anything.

Een VIA chipset is vragen om problemen met audio............
Dat ligt dus niet aan de Maya 44
