Door 'Pull Over' en 'JB is dead' ben ik voor een 909 gaan sparen.. toen waren ze al duur en niet meer te vinden..

“The funny part about that whole thing,” recounts Ogilvie, “was that we spent $5,000 on some gear including a 909. We'd been working with the TR-808. All of a sudden we had this brand-new gear which was state of the art at the time.”
He goes on to explain that while Roland had already been part of their sound, the 909 was a whole other animal. “At first we turned on the 909 and it was far too clean. We were like, ‘What have we got here?’ I struggled and was very stretched for ideas.” Inspiration came in the unlikely form of a PA system. “I was looking around the studio, found a PA crossover, and took the three outputs from the kick into the board. Now, I had three kinds of specific frequencies that I was able to mess around with.”
It was a eureka moment. “All of a sudden we were like, ‘Wait a minute. This sounds brilliant now.’”

Promo - Last Man Standing (album)
Hier word vooral de kick goed gebruikt (in samenwerking met de Sherman 2 in een aantal tracks). Volgens mij zijn de rest van zijn drums ook alle uit de 909. Als het om een track zou moeten gaan dan kies ik voor "Promo - I Come Correct". De clap klinkt hier super, snare een stukje lichter als aanvulling, kick als een lekkere dreun zoals je dat alleen met een 909 kan.
In "Promo - The Industry Can't Stop Me" worden de 909 geluiden ook goed gebruikt. In de opening de clap die goed overstuurt is, maar het is vooral de open hi hat die hier zo fucking vet, dik en lekker klinkt.
Heeft toch wel een grote invloed gehad dit apparaat (samen met een aantal andere Roland drums/synths) is de EDM.

Aangezien the Hunter (rip Mark) al is genoemd en Adamski killer ook beb ik hier nog een mooi exemplaar, dikke vette track met heerlijk swingende 909
