M-VAVE FM-1 (Ali-express DX7)

[NoelVD]

Dus o.a.

Download FM-1 V15 from m-vave.com and install it with the box above.
If the FM-1 is stuck, hold OCT− while switching it on (USB rescue) and install again.

The issue with bluetooth is dependancy on the jetli library. it's kinda big in terms of ram and rom consumption. plus it's a bit of a bear to integrateI think it'll need the build to become more modular first but I could be wrong.

Groove OS heeft wel Bluetooth:
Groove OS is built on M-VAVE's V15 firmware, not instead of it. The FM engine, the 128 stock presets, the keys, the effects, MIDI and Bluetooth are the FM-1's own. Hold OCT− and OCT+ while you switch on and it starts as the stock FM-1, until the next power-on.

[NoelVD]

En wat Groove OS betreft:
Groove OS is V1.1 now.
Every 1.x update is included in the one-time $29.

Bubba, an eight-track groovebox with a sampler and a looper on every track
SLOOP Floyd FM, a visual four-operator FM engine
SLOOP DX7 Banks, twelve DX7 banks in SLOOP
WaveLoop, Felucca played from an Arturia MiniLab 3

Adding BLE has a significant cost. The vendor’s Bluetooth stack alone uses roughly 250 KB of flash and 60–80 KB of RAM. On the FM-1 (1 MB flash / 512 KB RAM), making room for it would mean removing features — likely SLICE and DELAY, reducing the maximum delay time, and possibly dropping GRAIN or SAMPLER.

There is also a licensing issue: the vendor’s Bluetooth libraries are closed-source binaries, while Felucca is GPL-3.0 and currently links no proprietary vendor code.

For now, Felucca supports USB MIDI and TRS MIDI IN. USB MIDI is class-compliant and works with phones, tablets, and computers without a driver. TRS MIDI can also be used with Bluetooth-MIDI adapters.

If there is enough demand, we may consider a separate BLE edition in a future major update.

Artikel over de explosie van FM-1 firmware

[Rvooh]

Er zijn 25 firmwares ondertussen

[BasicSystem]

Ik voel een "ranking of the firmwares" aankomen..

[torp]

- 8 TRACK SEQUENCER
- SEQUENCER NOT QUANTIZED

Nieuwe firmware: Jiant FM
JIANT FM is a free, open-source alternative firmware for the M-VAVE FM-1, made for playing live and building whole songs without a computer. The screen works like a thermal camera: every engine is a living being drawn in lines that swells, glows and changes shape with what you play. HOME is an ecosystem of four creatures, one per track.
What's inside:
8 synthesis engines, no samples: ANALOG, FM6 (Dexed, imports .syx), PHASE, LOFI with bytebeat, VOICE, WHEEL, NOISE and DRUM-X
DRUM-X: Microtonic-style synthesized drums with A/B morph, FOLD and FM
Dice everywhere: SELECT rolls a new sound, and macros land only on what's playing
🎛 A filter on every engine: LP, HP, BP and a COMB tuned to the note
Five reverbs: ROOM, SPRING, SHIMMER, RESO tuned to your scale, and a granular CLOUD that freezes
Punch-in FX you play on the keys and record as automation
8 songs with sections, scenes and live chaining, recorded while you play
An always-on master leveler, so every patch sits at a consistent volume
